Sag Harbor Front Porch

This is the painting I am submitting to this week's Daily Paintworks Challenge.  The theme is "home," and the proceeds from the sale of submitted paintings will go to the Japanese relief efforts. I will be donating to the Japanese Red Cross Society.
This sunny little front porch is on Main Street in Sag Harbor, NY, the town I am lucky enough to call home. Established in the early 1600s, Sag Harbor was formerly a whaling town. Its streets are lined with beautiful old houses, each with its own unique personality. I was drawn by the creaky old stairs leading up to the sunlit door on this one. So inviting, so welcoming! Feels so much like home. If you would like to bid on this painting, or on any of the others submitted to the challenge, go to: Click on "Challenges" and then on the "Japan Challenge."
