I love clean color. I love reflected color. I love color that bounces and moves your eye around the piece. I love color that captures temperature. I love color that pops and sings. Hooray!

Welcome to my blog!

I began this blog on September 7, 2010. At the time, I set out to paint daily which I continue to do more or less, and to paint smaller pieces alla prima. This effort freed me as a painter and improved my work. I literally stepped out into the world with my easel to paint landscapes en plein aire. Dependency on photography fell away, as I began to work directly from life and often in north light. Today I continue to paint from life and in plein aire but now I am also trying to create bigger and more complicated works.
