After painting boats for the past couple of days, it was nice to paint something that stood still! This is Sag Harbor's original firehouse. Now longer used in its original capacity, the structure now serves as a museum containing lots of memorabilia from back in the day. At one time, the firehouse also held the town jail in its basement. You can see the door and window indicated on the left side of the building.
I love the sense of light and solid feeling of the buildings. The sky color on the trim and the red basecoat popping through are great. You really captured that seaside feel!
