The Lookout

I am so drawn to the power of women when they are looking out for their children. This woman's children happen to be swimming in the surf and I can feel her holding them in her vision. She's standing firm, her eyes glued and she's not budging until they are safe and (in this case) out of the sound.

Front Row Seat

                                                SOLD

The challenge this week presented by Daily Paintworks, was to paint a seated person. For me, a beach chair pulled way up close to the surf on a scorching hot day... is always the best seat in the house!

The Shell Collector

This is a larger painting on display at Chrysalis Gallery in Southampton, NY. The subject is so familiar to me, most likely because this is exactly how I walk the beach... hunched over in search of treasure.

Alone Time?

This little painting is my submission to the weekly challenge hosted by Daily Paint Works. Must say, I found the background a bit tough going. I am happy with the finished piece, and especially like her  bag and shoes.
